This page is meant as a rough guide to help you figure out your visit to GMI. All of us are here to help if you have any questions related to any of this information or would like additional options. Milwaukee and Chicago have many things to offer – and if you have some time to relax a bit, we recommend you do so!

Major area airports:

MKE: If you are arriving in Milwaukee (Mitchell International, airport code MKE):

Mitchell International airport information can be found here.
Mitchell Field is a very easy airport to navigate and is 30-35 minutes from GMI’s Mequon facility. See route here.

ORD: If you are arriving in Chicago (O’Hare International, airport code ORD):

O’Hare airport information can be found here.
It takes about 1.5-2 hours to get from O’Hare to GMI. See route here. Since ORD is larger, more flight options are available. Traffic can be a bit heavy depending on times.

Some favorite eateries near our office:

  • FoxTown Brewery (Menu link on Home page)
    Relatively new to the area, FoxTown offers a selection of their own beers with some cocktails, good food. Outdoor seating during summer. Overall a nice place to visit and eat.

  • St. Paul Fish Company (Menu on this page)
    Lots of seafood to eat here - from Jamaican Jerk Swordfish to Lobster Po' Boys. They also sell fresh fish at the counter. Full food service at the bar or at tables. 

  • Cafe Hollander (Menu)
    Our locally-sourced, from-scratch menus transcend trendy. We craft inspired takes on traditional Dutch and Belgian dishes with global contemporary culinary influences. 

  • Skippy's Burger Bar (Menu)
    A fun 'Wisconsiny' place with good burgers and other tasty options, combined (of course) with a full bar and beer options, should you be so inclined. Sit at the bar, a table indoors or one of the tables outside during summer.
